I'm just against the way it's treated as and how once again pop culture has watered something down to make it consumable to the masses. There are probably stories on Literotica that have more substance and meaning within this particular culture than Fifty Shades of Grey, but of course that substance and meaning isn't digestible to pop culture, so it's still cast aside while a poorly written, simplistic essay on the topic is propped up as a brilliant literary masterpiece. I know, I might sound like a bit of a snobby asshole about it, and maybe I am. That's just how I feel about a lot of the time. I don't hate people who disagree with me because any this book included is subjective and what is a masterpiece to me be garbage to someone. But trust me on this, I seem like a snobby asshole on this topic, but I'm even worse when it comes to music. I'm not against the book being made, I'm not against people reading it, I just strongly disagree with the way it's been put on a pedestal as if it's one of the greatest books ever written. Lastly, thanks for not being offended by anything I've said (or at least not getting too wound up about any of it). I know that civil disagreement is rare in modern society, and I'm glad that you have been very good with it. I at least that I usually am, and it's good to actually be able to discuss something like this and not have it turn into a shouting match simply because we disagree.
