She has a high fever and days later, is admitted to the hospital for what is discovered to be a severe double bone infection in both legs and NOT a fracture. (Osteomyelitis) Doctors say there were never any signs of a fracture to her left leg, and even if there was, a cast was NOT warranted. The infection becomes so bad in the right leg that it requires two surgeries. She is in the hospital for 5 days. She is put on an IV for 4 weeks. She must use a wheelchair. While we are in the hospital, dad says she had a fever while she was with him during those 6 days. A fever he never mentioned to me, to DFS, or to the doctor he had place her in the cast. There are more details than this, obviously, but that's the gist. My life has been a nightmare since this incident and I am trying to cope with the post-traumatic stress of it all.
